The Maintenance 1A Plus Worker Co-op was founded in 2007 by 5 immigrant workers in the cleaning sector. They were dissatisfied with working conditions offered by private sector, for example, overtime beyond the regular day, unpaid vacations, non-consideration, lack of medicines and dental insurance, unfair treatment, etc.
The primary objective of the founder is to create a work environment attractive to newcomers by putting their experience to develop a new approach of direct relationship with customers based on respect for ecological values and fair work.
